Aesthetica .
20 Years of Contemporary Culture
For more than 20 years, Aesthetica has worked across art, film, publishing, education and the creative industries, championing artists and connecting creative voices with audiences. At the heart of this work is a simple belief: talent needs a platform. Through exhibitions, publications, festivals, events and engagement with the creative sector, Aesthetica has created opportunities for artists and filmmakers to share their work, reach new audiences and contribute to wider conversations. Its work extends across disciplines and borders, connecting practitioners, audiences, institutions and industry. These established relationships provide the foundation for the Centre for Contemporary Art. The Centre takes Aesthetica's commitment into a permanent gallery in York. It is the next chapter in Aesthetica's work: bringing people together through art, supporting new creative possibilities and helping talent thrive on a national and international stage.

Artists supported through the Prize have gone on to exhibit at institutions including Tate, MoMA, the V&A and the Serpentine Galleries. The Prize reflects Aesthetica's long-standing commitment to discovery: identifying creative voices, supporting artistic development and helping work reach wider audiences. This commitment underpins the Centre for Contemporary Art. The gallery will build on Aesthetica's experience by creating a new setting for contemporary art and emerging talent, creating further opportunities for work to be experienced in person.

Magazine
Aesthetica Magazine connects readers with contemporary culture and creative ideas from around the world. It offers a space for new perspectives, critical discussion and encounters with creative practices across disciplines, connecting readers with ideas and work that extend beyond geographical boundaries. The Centre for Contemporary Art will extend this conversation into a physical gallery where audiences can encounter ideas and creative perspectives first-hand. The People Behind the Work
Behind every exhibition is an artist with something to say. Every film is a filmmaker with a story to tell. And, every new technology is someone exploring what might be possible. This work a space where it can be shared. It needs people willing to discover new voices, engage with unfamiliar perspectives and help creative talent develop. Aesthetica has always been about making those connections happen: creating platforms, building audiences and bringing people into contact with work that might otherwise remain undiscovered. The Centre for Contemporary Art will offer a new setting for this mission, opening further possibilities for artists, filmmakers, technologists, designers, young people and audiences. It will bring creative people together in a gallery where work can be encountered, ideas exchanged and new relationships developed.
